Hi there, I’m Jen. Thank you so much for stopping by. This site launched back in 2013 when I moved to London for my day job. After much deliberation over a blog alter ego, I settled on “Lady Relocated” and began writing about my experience for family and friends back home. Connecting with other expats and travelers around the world was an unexpected bonus.
In 2015 I moved back to the USA. Yet I commuted back and forth between Seattle and London for another 18 months while my husband finished up his work assignment. Most recently we combined our honeymoon with a much-needed career pause and spent three glorious months backpacking around SE Asia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia. We’re back in the USA and back to work, but our obsession with travel hasn’t faded.
Why “Lady Relocated”? Relocation has been a major theme in my life since leaving Salem, Oregon to attend college in Spokane, Washington (Go Zags!). Since then I’ve lived in 5 cities across 3 countries, and traveled to dozens of destinations around the globe (2014 was a banner year). Overcoming the challenge of relocating or traveling to a new place outside my comfort zone is one of the most exhilarating feelings. Plus, there’s nothing like a trip away from your daily routine to remind you of your priorities in life.
P.S. If you’re nosy like me perhaps you’re curious for more. Be careful what you wish for…
