After being in the UK over a year I’m still amazed at the number of new words and phrases I discover. I shared my first British vocabulary lesson awhile back, but that was only the beginning. Sometimes I catch myself using British slang without realising it, or spelling words like realize with an “s” instead of a “z”. I don’t notice I’ve been absorbing all this new lingo until another American calls me out for saying things like “going on holiday” instead of “going on vacation”, or “envisage” in lieu of “envision”.
