Well, well, well, if we aren’t already twelve days into 2015. It’s been a slow adjustment to the new year for this girl. After two glorious weeks reveling in all things American (ie. Costco, customer service, my favorite foods, Nordstrom!, the Pacific Time Zone, and especially the presence of my family and friends), the transition back to London last week was anything but smooth. But after a lot of sleep this weekend I’m feeling back to my chipper self and ready to recap December and 2014 before finally embracing 2015.
Overall, I managed to travel to 21 destinations in 12 months adding 12 brand new passport stamps to my collection. Whew! Here’s my 2014 highlights reel:
Czeched out picturesque Prague.
Kept the beach theme going on the island of Mallorca, Spain.
Road tripped through Croatia with my #Americansinlondon posse.
Saw the Christmas market to beat all Christmas markets in Vienna and went back to the US for the first time in seven months.
Looking back I have a few thoughts such as, “no wonder I was so tired in December!” and “how did I keep up my day job?” But given the chance I would do it again. I’ve only just scratched the surface of my list of places to see in the world, so I can’t stop anytime soon. Even better than the travel was the quality time these trips gave me with visitors from the US and London friends alike.
Here’s to another eventful year of travel, personal and career growth, and closing off the London chapter of my life in style before starting the next one back in the USA. I hope the new year is off to a wonderful start for all of you.
