May came and went in a flash. I was getting into the rhythm of life in London and feeling more comfortable, so it was time to switch things up. The biggest event of the month was moving to a new part of town. You can read more about my old part of town (Fulham) here. Relocating is the name of the game though, right? In addition to moving, it was an eventful May.
Traveled to Seattle:
Spent the first part of the month in Seattle for a work trip but also fit in much-needed time with family and friends.
Traveled to beautiful Stockholm with friends for a long weekend of sightseeing and a JT concert, too. Stockholm summary here.
Traveled to The Hague in the Netherlands for a work trip. I had never heard of this city before but it was beautiful and has political and historical significance. If you travel to Amsterdam or Rotterdam, I would recommend tagging on The Hague to your itinerary.
Hampton Court Palace:
I dragged a coworker who was visiting from Seattle along with me to see Hampton Court Palace, former home of crazy Henry VIII. It was a rainy day so we just enjoyed the indoor tour, but I’d like to go back when the weather is nice because there are 60 acres of gardens to explore as well.
Katy Perry Concert in London:
I’ve seen more concerts in London than almost my entire life pre-London. My friend Jeannette found last minute tickets to Katy Perry’s show in London and we decided to make a night out of it. I was so impressed, Katy Perry puts on one heck of a show. We were probably the oldest people in attendance without kids, but that’s cool. It was so much fun I forgot my age.
And the grand finale….Moving!
Here she is folks. This is the new casa. After two weekends of settling in it truly feels like home. I’m living with two dear friends who I’ve met since moving to London and I can’t wait for all the adventures we’ll have as roommates (I mean, flatmates). We’ll definitely be taking advantage of the garden this summer. Oh – and not pictured is a guest room just waiting for visitors.
