The past two weeks I’ve been MIA from London while I made a brief reappearance on US soil thanks to a work conference in San Francisco followed by a week in my company’s Seattle office for meetings. I feel like I cheated the expat system a bit by returning to the states after only a few weeks abroad but I’ve enjoyed every minute of being back. I was able to see my boyfriend, family, lots of friends, and do some serious shopping at Nordstrom. What more does a girl need?
Some other highlights included:
Seeing Robin Thicke in concert! Miley wasn’t performing alongside him thank goodness but Robin put on a fantastic show with his band and non-twerking backup dancers. He performed for the customer party of the conference I was attending so I was able to see him up close and sing along to “Blurred Lines” live. He was sweating up a storm and kept wiping off his face with a towel and tossing it into the audience. Every good-looking man has a fatal flaw and sweating profusely is his. Hyperhidrosis aside, he put on an entertaining performance.
Visiting a US dentist! After seeing enough bad British teeth to believe the hype I was dreading finding a UK dentist. Fortunately, I was able to fit in an early morning dental appointment before work last week. These pearly whites don’t clean themselves.
I’m spending week 8 in beautiful Maui to celebrate a milestone birthday. Back to London and the real world next Monday.
I’ve been too busy to watch TV, however I did watch two movies on the flight from London to San Francisco: The Internship and The Heat. Although neither one is likely to win an Oscar anytime soon, they kept me entertained on the 10 hour flight.
It’s a beautiful Sunday in Maui. Aloha week 8!
